BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. The European Union and 26 countries have condemned Iran’s executions of protesters in a joint statement, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said.
The countries called on Tehran to listen to its people and take meaningful steps to ensure respect for human rights.
They also urged Iran to immediately end the use of the death penalty and release people they described as being arbitrarily detained.
The statement comes amid continued international criticism over Iran’s handling of protesters and human rights issues.
