BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. US President Donald Trump has reiterated his claim that the United States has control over the Strait of Hormuz, saying Washington intends to maintain its position in the strategic waterway.
“The U.S.A. has total control over the Strait of Hormuz. I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT! Our Naval Blockade is being called, by everyone, ‘A WALL OF STEEL,’ and there is nothing Iran can do about it,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy routes, through which a significant share of global oil shipments passes.
Trump’s remarks come amid continued tensions between Washington and Tehran over security arrangements, maritime navigation and regional developments.
