BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 11. Iran plans to restore around 95 million cubic metres of natural gas production by the end of September as repair efforts continue on energy infrastructure damaged during the conflict with the United States and Israel, Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said.
The Iranian Oil Ministry said the recovery plan is focused on returning damaged facilities to operation and restoring lost production capacity.
The announcement follows remarks by a senior Iranian government official in July, who said Tehran aimed to recover around 100 million cubic metres per day of natural gas production capacity in the coming months.
According to Iranian officials, attacks on key energy facilities since the conflict began in late February have reduced the country’s natural gas output by an estimated 230 million cubic metres per day.
Iran is one of the world’s largest natural gas producers and relies heavily on domestic energy infrastructure to supply households, industries and power generation.
