Pezeshkian says Iranians will stand ‘until the end’ behind leadership’s decision

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iranians will stand “until the end” behind whatever decision the country’s leadership makes regarding the ongoing conflict, according to the Fars news agency.

Pezeshkian said military commanders were in a better position to determine whether the country should continue fighting, given their knowledge of Iran’s military capabilities and the situation on the ground.

“The war commanders know better than you and me whether we should fight or not. They know their own power. The leadership decides, and whatever decision they make, we will stand until the end,” he said.

The Iranian president added that this commitment would continue “until our death”, stressing that he was not afraid of remaining involved in the confrontation.

Pezeshkian also acknowledged the possibility of assassination, saying that such a threat would not alter his position.

“Now, they may assassinate us one day; well, let them,” he said.
