BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. The Washington summit, held on August 8, 2025, broke the deadlock for Armenia and opened up new prospects for the country that must be seized.
This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in his address marking the first anniversary of the trilateral summit held in Washington.
At the same time, he emphasized that the process of implementing the peace agenda is not yet complete.
"Until August 8, 2025, our country was at an impasse, but after August 8, boundless prospects opened up before us. Whether we take advantage of them or not depends on our collective will," the prime minister said.
According to Pashinyan, one of the key outcomes of the Washington Peace Summit was the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project.
"This project will not only put an end to the blockade of Armenia in the near future and serve as the foundation for the economies of Armenia and the region, but it will also help Armenia and Azerbaijan begin to view each other not as obstacles, but as partners and neighbors. "We will soon begin the practical implementation of the TRIPP project, and this will be a major regional and international event," he noted.
On August 8, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the US Donald Trump, and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration following the meeting between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia in Washington.
On the same day, as part of the meeting between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the US Donald Trump, and Prime Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in Washington, D.C., the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, initialed the draft "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia."
In addition, the foreign ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia signed a joint appeal to the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office calling for the termination of the activities of the OSCE Minsk Process, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office’s Personal Representative on the conflict discussed at the Minsk Conference, and the High-Level Planning Group.
