BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has said that regional security should be managed exclusively by countries in the region, without foreign involvement, adding that conditions appear favorable for resuming security dialogue with Gulf states.
According to comments carried by Iran's state-run IRNA news agency, Gharibabadi said Tehran believes the current environment could support renewed regional security discussions.
He also stated that Iran had submitted documentation to the United Nations Security Council concerning attacks allegedly launched from the territory of some neighboring countries, including what he described as a limited number of "direct attacks."
Gharibabadi added that Iran believes regional governments have concluded that any further escalation or prolonged military conflict would ultimately threaten their own national security.
No immediate response from the countries referenced in Gharibabadi's remarks was reported.
