BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) says attacks on its vessels and personnel are having a significant impact on its operations as the company works to maintain supplies in what it described as an "exceptionally challenging environment."
In a statement released on Friday, ADNOC said 15 of its vessels have been targeted by missile and drone attacks while transiting the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the conflict.
According to the company, three vessels were attacked this week alone, resulting in one crew member being killed and 20 others injured.
The Strait of Hormuz, located between Iran and Oman, is one of the world's most critical maritime routes, handling roughly 20 percent of global oil consumption.
ADNOC said it is working closely with relevant authorities and has implemented all necessary measures to protect its employees, assets and operations while continuing to meet customer demand as much as possible.
The company is one of the world's largest energy producers and exports crude oil, natural gas and refined petroleum products to international markets.
