BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. Iran has reached a framework understanding with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian state media.
Hassan Ghashghavi, a member of parliament and spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament's National Security Commission, said the two sides have agreed on the general framework of the arrangement.
Speaking to the official IRNA news agency, Ghashghavi said:
"The general framework of the understanding with Oman has been determined, and the final text and details will be announced soon."
He added that the agreement still requires approval by higher Iranian authorities before it can take effect.
No additional details about the contents of the framework were immediately disclosed.
