BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5.The United States has lifted counterterrorism sanctions on Iraqi airline Fly Baghdad, along with several aircraft and two Iraqi individuals previously accused of having links to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to updated information published on the U.S. Treasury Department's website, the sanctions were removed from at least one airline identified as Fly Baghdad, several aircraft, and two Iraqi nationals.
The individuals had previously been sanctioned over alleged ties to the IRGC or to the airline itself.
The Treasury Department did not immediately provide further details on the reasons for removing the sanctions.
The move marks a change in the U.S. sanctions regime involving entities previously designated under counterterrorism authorities.
