BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) says it has redirected nine commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours as part of its enforcement measures in the region.
In a statement posted on social media, CENTCOM said it continues to enforce its blockade-related operations against Iran and has now redirected a total of 44 commercial vessels since the measure was reimposed in mid-July.
The command also said its forces have disabled two vessels and boarded two others during the operation.
According to CENTCOM, the previous update reported 35 redirected vessels, indicating that nine additional ships were redirected during the past day.
Iran has disputed U.S. claims regarding control and operations in the Strait of Hormuz, and the situation remains a source of heightened regional tension.
