BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 28. US President Donald Trump has reiterated that the United States could target Pickaxe Mountain and other sites in Iran if negotiations fail to produce a new agreement with Tehran.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Trump said discussions with Iran had been positive, describing them as "good talks."
"Pickaxe Mountain is not a big problem. We have a very strong position with Iran now," the US president said.
Trump also repeated previous warnings that military action remains an option if a deal is not reached, mentioning bridges and other civilian targets while discussing potential targets in Iran.
At the same time, the president said he would prefer to avoid strikes on Iran's power plants and bridges.
"I'm not looking to do that," Trump said, indicating that he favors a diplomatic outcome if possible.
His remarks come as diplomatic contacts between Washington and Tehran continue amid efforts to revive negotiations over Iran's nuclear program.
