BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned Iran’s recent attacks on its territory, as well as on neighboring Gulf states and Jordan.
In a statement posted on X, the ministry described the attacks as “a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the targeted states, and a blatant breach of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and the principles of good neighbourliness.”
The statement held Iran fully responsible for the attacks and their consequences and affirmed Qatar’s right to respond under international law and Article 51 of the UN Charter to protect its sovereignty and citizens.
Qatar also expressed solidarity with nations defending their territorial integrity and called for an immediate cessation of military actions, restraint from further escalation, a return to dialogue and negotiations, and adherence to previously agreed diplomatic understandings.
