BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17, Delegation led by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov visited Uzbekistan for an official business trip. During the visit, Jabbarov, together with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov, attended the 15th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission on cooperation.
The meeting focused on deepening trade and investment partnerships in line with targets set by the heads of state of both countries, developing new production and value chains between Central Asia and the South Caucasus, enhancing transport and logistics links along the Middle Corridor, and expanding investment cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a protocol was signed outlining strengthened cooperation in key sectors including economic-trade, energy, transport, agriculture, food security, healthcare, environmental protection, and other priority areas. In addition, a Terms of Reference was signed to establish a trilateral joint venture for geological exploration, with participation from AzerGold JSC, Uzbekgeologorazvedka SC, and the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company.
The Terms of Reference were signed by Zakir Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Board of AzerGold JSC; Nazim Hajiyev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company; and Shamsiddin Alimov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekgeologorazvedka SC.
