Iran United States CENTCOM US strikes Civilian targets Hoveyzeh Sirik

US military denies hitting civilian targets in Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15, The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has denied claims that its recent strikes in Iran targeted civilian infrastructure.

Iranian state media reported that US forces struck a civilian wheat storage facility in Hoveyzeh on July 14. CENTCOM rejected this claim on social media, stating it is false.

The US conducted a new wave of attacks across multiple locations in Iran on Tuesday, with explosions reported in Sirik, eastern Hormozgan, Bampur, Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, Ahvaz, and on Qeshm Island. CENTCOM said the strikes were aimed at military targets and infrastructure supporting Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping.

The denial comes amid heightened tensions between the US and Iran, with both sides exchanging attacks across the Gulf region.
