BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10, Qatar has called on the United States and Iran to respect their memorandum of understanding and continue diplomatic talks to prevent further escalation in the region.
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said he made the appeal during a phone conversation with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.
In a post on X, Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of maintaining dialogue between Washington and Tehran and preserving regional stability.
He also highlighted the need to protect freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, warning that ensuring safe maritime passage is essential for regional and international security.
The statement comes amid growing concerns over disruptions to shipping routes and energy supplies in the Gulf region.
