IRGC says US attacks seriously disrupt Hormuz reopening

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has said US military strikes will seriously disrupt efforts to reopen maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement, the IRGC warned that the attacks would trigger Iran's “crushing response” and further affect navigation through the strategic waterway.

The IRGC said traffic through the strait had recovered to about 50 percent of pre-war levels before the latest escalation.

It blamed Washington's “adventurism and interference” in determining maritime routes for the current disruption.

“Foreigners have no stake in this land and in the Strait of Hormuz,” the IRGC said.
