BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 8, Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency has reported that an Indian oil tanker was turned back from the Omani maritime corridor in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the report, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) continues to warn vessels attempting to use the temporary corridor established along Oman's coast, instructing them via radio communications to instead use the navigation route designated by Iran.
The temporary maritime corridor was announced on June 24 by Oman and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to facilitate the evacuation of commercial vessels stranded in the Gulf. The route is overseen by the United States.
Fars also reported that ship-tracking data indicated all vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz this morning used the corridor approved by Iran.
