BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3. Iran has warned that it will take reciprocal action if the United States and Israel fail to honor their commitments under the interim agreement aimed at ending the recent conflict.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Tehran expects the full implementation of the understandings reached between the parties and warned of a response if those commitments are not fulfilled.
"We strongly demand full implementation of the agreements, and if the US and the Zionist regime fail to fulfil their commitments, Iran will resume proportionate actions," Ghalibaf was quoted as saying by the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA).
Ghalibaf, who also leads Iran's negotiating team in talks with the United States, argued that Washington is unable to confront Iran militarily and dismissed Israeli threats as "baseless propaganda."
He further claimed that neither the United States nor Israel had achieved their objectives during what he referred to as the "Ramadan War," adding that military action against Iran had failed and that the ceasefire had ultimately been requested by the opposing side.
