BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the funeral ceremonies of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei during an official visit to Iran this week.
According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tahir Andrabi, Sharif will travel to Iran and Türkiye from July 3 to 5 as part of a regional diplomatic tour.
Ali Khamenei, who served as Iran's supreme leader for 36 years and was known for his strong criticism of the United States, was killed on the first day of the US-Israel war against Iran on February 28 at the age of 86.
The funeral ceremonies will begin in Tehran on July 4 and conclude on July 9 with his burial in his hometown of Mashhad in northeastern Iran.
