BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced that he will resign within weeks and trigger early presidential and parliamentary elections, according to remarks made at a pro-government rally in Belgrade.
TurkicWorld reports that Vučić told supporters that he would remain in office for only a “couple of weeks” before stepping down, despite his current mandate officially running until mid-2027.
He made the announcement during a televised appearance, stating that early elections would be held following his resignation.
The president is currently serving his second and final term in office.
