BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 26. Japan has announced an emergency humanitarian assistance package worth $15 million to help address worsening humanitarian conditions in Iran, Lebanon and the occupied West Bank, the country's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
TurkicWorld reports that according to the ministry, the funding will be channelled through international organisations, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
The assistance will support essential humanitarian needs, including healthcare services, food aid, emergency shelter, as well as water, sanitation and hygiene programmes for affected populations.
In addition, Japan will allocate $640,000 through the Japan Platform to support humanitarian operations carried out by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Lebanon.
