BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. China has called on Iran and the United States to sustain progress in their ongoing negotiations and work toward continued positive diplomatic outcomes.
TurkicWorld reports that Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said Beijing hopes both sides will maintain momentum in the talks and move toward constructive results, according to Xinhua news agency.
Guo also expressed China’s support for mediation efforts led by Pakistan, Qatar, and other regional actors involved in facilitating dialogue between Washington and Tehran. He stated that China “supports Pakistan and Qatar and all relevant parties in their mediation efforts.”
The remarks come after Pakistan and Qatar reported progress in diplomatic engagement following the first round of high-level US-Iran talks in Switzerland, highlighting the growing role of multiple mediators in the process.
