Israel China United Nations gaza UN Security Council ceasefire Fu Cong

China’s UN envoy urges Israel to respect Gaza ceasefire

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. China has called on Israel to cease violations of the US-brokered ceasefire in Gaza, which has been in place since October of last year.

TurkicWorld reports that Fu Cong, China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, spoke during an emergency session of the UN Security Council focused on the humanitarian situation in Gaza. According to Xinhua, Fu expressed “grave concern” over Israel’s ongoing expansion of military operations and occupation in the region.

China urged all parties, particularly Israel, to fully adhere to the ceasefire agreement and to refrain from any actions that would undermine it, emphasizing the need for responsible behavior to protect civilians and support stability in Gaza.

The call underscores China’s engagement in multilateral diplomatic efforts to ensure compliance with international agreements and prevent further escalation of conflict in the Middle East.
