China to provide humanitarian aid to Iran and Lebanon amid ongoing regional crises

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. China has announced that it will provide humanitarian assistance to Iran and Lebanon, citing what it described as a “humanitarian disaster” resulting from recent conflicts in the region.

TurkicWorld reports that Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Beijing will support recovery and reconstruction efforts in both countries, aiming to help improve economic conditions and living standards for affected populations.

Speaking to reporters in Beijing, Lin said China is “deeply saddened by the humanitarian disaster” and emphasized that the assistance package is based on the “real situation” in Iran and Lebanon. He added that the support will focus on recovery, reconstruction, and economic stabilization.

This marks the second time China has provided assistance to Iran since the outbreak of the conflict earlier this year, with Beijing previously sending aid in March.

The announcement comes as Iran and the United States have reportedly reached a memorandum of understanding, mediated with regional involvement, aimed at ending hostilities. A formal signing ceremony is expected to take place in Switzerland on Friday.

China’s move underscores its growing diplomatic and humanitarian engagement in the Middle East, particularly in response to escalating regional conflicts affecting multiple countries.
