BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. Iranian state media reports that funeral ceremonies for the country’s late supreme leader Ali Khamenei are scheduled to begin in July, with events planned across multiple cities.
TurkicWorld reports that according to the announced schedule, farewell ceremonies will be held in Tehran on July 4 and 5, followed by a formal funeral ceremony in the capital on July 6 and another memorial service in Qom on July 7.
The final burial is expected to take place at the shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad, following an additional ceremony on July 9.
Authorities have not yet provided further details regarding international participation or security arrangements for the nationwide ceremonies.
