BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12. Andrea Dessi, lecturer in international relations at the American University of Rome, Italy, stated that President Donald Trump is seeking a “face-saving off-ramp” to end the war on Iran, which she described as a “strategic disaster.”
TurkicWorld reports that Dessi noted that Trump’s messaging via tweets and social media reflects divisions within the US administration. While recent communications are positive, she cautioned that circumstances could change quickly. Leaks of the final document indicate that Trump may have dropped some of his previous demands to facilitate a deal.
She also emphasized the need to carefully frame the agreement to both domestic and Israeli audiences.
