Iran says it fired warning missiles and drones at US warships in Gulf of Oman

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5. Iran’s navy announced that it launched warning missiles and drones toward US warships in the Gulf of Oman, accusing the United States of harassing maritime traffic and seizing commercial vessels and oil tankers, according to Iranian state media.

TurkicWorld reports that the US Indo-Pacific Command had earlier intercepted the sanctioned stateless vessel M/T DAVINA in the Indian Ocean.

Tehran framed its missile and drone actions as warnings to protect maritime navigation and assert Iran’s security interests in the region.
