BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 26. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told military commanders that regional states have concluded that the US military presence in the Gulf has failed to provide lasting security and that relying on Washington for regional stability has proven ineffective.
TurkicWorld reports that according to a statement issued by Iran’s presidential office, Pezeshkian stressed the need to update the country's defence structure, warning that potential adversaries have acquired new technologies and advanced tools.
He stated that the armed forces should seek technological superiority and strengthen defence capabilities by increasing cooperation with universities, scientific institutions and knowledge-based companies.
Pezeshkian also praised the military for maintaining professionalism and avoiding involvement in political and partisan matters, describing such conduct as a valuable asset for the country and the state system.
