BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. US President Donald Trump reiterated that his main position is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
TurkicWorld reports that Trump stated the decision on this matter “will not be extended indefinitely,” emphasizing that the US military is “on alert” and that armed forces and ships are fully equipped. The president added that he could make his decision “by the beginning of next week.”
He also said: “We may have to strike them once,” because, according to Trump, the pace of negotiations is unsatisfactory and he is not certain how seriously Iran is approaching the process.
These statements increase Washington’s pressure on Tehran while also raising political and economic tensions within the United States. Trump expressed regret over the economic impact on US citizens but described these measures as a “completely correct decision.”
