Kyrgyzstan and Slovenia discuss inter-parliamentary cooperation

BAKU.TurkicWorld Within the framework of the official visit to Slovenia Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev met in Ljubljana with President of the National Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of Slovenia Urška Klakočar Zupančič on October 16, 2025.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the development and strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Slovenia. The sides emphasized that interaction between the parliaments plays an important role in expanding bilateral relations and fostering mutual understanding.

Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev informed the Slovenian side about the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic, scheduled for November 30, 2025. He particularly underlined that the authorities and all political forces of the country are committed to holding open, democratic, and competitive elections in accordance with national legislation and international obligations. In this context, he proposed that Slovenia send representatives as international observers to the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Urška Klakočar Zupančič, wished successful parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic, noting the importance of ensuring transparency and public trust in the electoral process. She also informed that parliamentary elections in the Republic of Slovenia are scheduled to take place in April next year.

Both sides expressed their readiness to continue an active political dialogue and inter-parliamentary cooperation in the interests of strengthening friendly relations between the two countries. They also underlined the importance of cooperation between parliaments within the framework of international inter-parliamentary organizations.
