The Global Peace Index is a comprehensive index that characterizes the peacefulness of the world's countries by measuring the level of violence inside the state and the level of aggressiveness of its foreign policy.
The index shows which states can be considered the safest (and vice versa - dangerous) for human life.
The rating is compiled by the Institute for Economics and Peace (Institute for Economics and Peace), which operates on the basis of the University of Sydney with the participation of partner organizations.
The top ten safest countries include Iceland, Ireland, Austria, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, Portugal, Denmark, Slovenia and Malaysia.
