Solemn event held in Bishkek to mark 80th anniversary of Kyrgyz MFA

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov attended on Tuesday a solemn event on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

Before the event, the Kyrgyz leader toured the photo gallery reflecting the history of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a movie about the formation of the country's diplomatic system was presented to the guests.

In his congratulatory speech, Sadyr Zhaparov noted that the history of Kyrgyz diplomacy is closely connected with the history of the people, which goes back three thousand years. He emphasized that since ancient times the Kyrgyz people have skillfully used diplomatic means to establish relations with great empires, create alliances and preserve sovereignty, even in difficult periods. An important place in Kyrgyz diplomacy was occupied by the principles of peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation, which remains the basis of the country's international policy today.

The president also emphasized that in a short period of time Kyrgyzstan became a full member of the UN and established diplomatic relations with more than 170 countries. Today, the country is a member of 124 international organizations and actively develops multilateral cooperation to strengthen political dialogue and create favorable conditions.

In addition, during the ceremony, President Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to veterans of the diplomatic service, who made a significant contribution to the development of the country's foreign policy.

After that, the ceremony of presenting state awards took place.

The event ended with a festive concert.
