President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic Lorenzo Fontana.
The sides exchanged views on strengthening inter-parliamentary diplomacy, as well as current topics of bilateral, regional and international agendas, his press service said.
Speaker Lorenzo Fontana warmly welcomed the Kyrgyz leader, emphasizing that the friendly visit of Sadyr Zhaparov to Italy will give a new impetus to further development and deepening of relations between the two countries.
He also expressed confidence that the upcoming meeting of the president with representatives of Italian business circles within the framework of the visit would be mutually useful and interesting. Lorenzo Fontana emphasized that Italian entrepreneurs are actively investing and prefer to work in international markets.
Fontana also thanked the Kyrgyz side for active participation in the dialog platform of the “Italy - Central Asia” format.
In turn, President Zhaparov noted that this meeting will serve as a significant stimulus to promote inter-parliamentary dialog between Kyrgyzstan and Italy.
During the conversation, he confirmed the readiness of the political leadership of Kyrgyzstan to develop the whole range of bilateral relations with Italy.
The Kyrgyz leader emphasized the desire of the Kyrgyz side to make Italy learn more about Kyrgyzstan, and the country became closer to Italy, despite the geographical remoteness.
Sadyr Zhaparov noted that Kyrgyzstan is the only country in the Central Asian region that has experience with the parliamentary form of government.
The sides expressed confidence that the agreements reached will be a good basis for further development and deepening of mutually beneficial both inter-parliamentary and interstate relations for the prosperity of the two countries and peoples.
