The former US President called the politician "a smart man" and added that he would be glad to have his support, TurkicWorld reports.
Former American leader and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said that if he wins in November, he would like to see Robert Kennedy Jr., who is running as an independent candidate, in his administration.
"He is a wonderful person. He is a very smart person. We have known each other for a long time. "I didn't know that he was thinking about leaving, but if that's the case, I'm certainly open to offering Kennedy a position in my administration," Trump said in an interview with CNN.
The Republican also said he "would be happy to have support" from Kennedy. "I like him very much. I respect him very much. I would be honored to have his support," Trump said.
Earlier, The Washington Post reported that Kennedy Jr. sought a meeting with current Vice President Kamala Harris in the hopes of getting a post in the American administration if she wins the presidential election. According to the publication, Harris and her advisers "did not respond to the offer of a meeting and showed no interest in his initiative."
