Former US leader and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has promised to improve relations with China if he wins the election in November, TurkicWorld reports.
"I think we're going to have a great relationship with China. But it's also going to have to be a fair relationship. China has taken advantage of our country for years, just like any other country," he said at a news conference in Bedminster, New Jersey, broadcast by conservative media outlet RSBN.
Trump added that Washington needs to gain Beijing's respect to improve US-Chinese relations. "But they don't respect Kamala Harris or Joe Biden," the former head of the White House believes.
The presidential election in the country will be held on November 5. Biden was expected to represent the Democratic Party, but after his disastrous performance in the June debates with Trump, calls for the head of the White House to abandon the fight became increasingly loud among Democrats. On July 21, he decided to leave the race and supported Harris's nomination for the highest state office. Trump will be nominated as the Republican presidential candidate.
