BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 16. Georgia's foreign trade turnover in the first half of 2024 dropped by 1.8 percent compared to the same period in 2023, totaling $10.3 billion, says the country's National Statistics Service, TurkicWorld reports.
From January to June 2024, the country imported goods worth $7.5 billion, a slight increase of 0.2 percent from the same period in 2023. The trade deficit rose to $4.6 billion, up 4.9 percent from the previous year.
Meanwhile, in 2023, Georgia's foreign trade turnover surged by 12.5 percent compared to 2022, reaching $21.5 billion. Exports of Georgian products amounted to approximately $6.1 billion, marking a 9.1-percent increase from 2022.
Imports for the year totaled $15.4 billion, a 14-percent rise compared to 2022.
