Iran's acting FM casts vote in second round of extraordinary presidential election

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. Acting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani has participated in the second round of voting in Iran's extraordinary presidential election, TurkicWorld reports.

Ali Bagheri Kani cast his vote at a mobile polling station set up at the Iranian Foreign Ministry building.

To note, the second round of the extraordinary presidential election started on July 5 at 08:00 (GMT +3:30) in Iran, with two candidates - Masoud Pezeshkian and Saeed Jalili - competing. The duration of the election is 10 hours (if the Ministry of Interior deems it necessary, the election time can be extended).

A total of 58,640 constituencies have been established in Iran for the Iranian presidential election inside the country and 344 outside the country. Over 61.4 million voters are eligible to vote in Iran's presidential election.

According to the results of the first round of the early presidential election, former Iranian Health Minister Masoud Pezeshkian counted 10.4 million votes, the representative of Iran's spiritual leader in the Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, received 9.47 million votes, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf - 3.38 million votes, and former Minister of the Interior and Justice and conservative Mostafa Pourmohammadi - 206,000 votes.
