Second round of presidential election kicks off in Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. Today at 08:00 local time, the second round of early presidential election began in Iran, TurkicWorld reports.

61,452,321 voters have the right to vote in the 14th presidential election.

Two candidates will compete for the presidency - Masoud Pezeshkian and Saeed Jalili.

According to the results of the first round of early presidential election, Former Iranian Health Minister Masoud Pezeshkian counted 10.4 million votes, Saeed Jalili received 9.47 million votes, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf - 3.38 million votes, and former Minister of the Interior and Justice and conservative Mostafa Pourmohammadi - 206,000 votes.

To note, the helicopter flying from Khudaferin to Tabriz with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, representative of Iran's Supreme Leader in Tabriz Mohammad Ali Al Hashemi, and Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Malek Rahmati crashed on May 19.
