BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. The newest installment of the analytical video series "Dialogue with Tofig Abbasov" hit the airwaves on the expert platform Baku Network, showcasing the chairman of the Union of Journalists of Azerbaijan and a respected journalist, Elchin Shikhly, as the featured guest, TurkicWorld reports.
In talking about the normalization process between Baku and Yerevan, Shikhly pointed out Azerbaijan's dedication to working towards lasting peace with Armenia.
"Azerbaijan is dedicated to promoting enduring peace and collaboration, motivated by a commitment to development and innovation," he said.
Shikhly pointed out that there’s a particular group in Armenia that’s reaping the rewards of the chaos with Azerbaijan, and they’re deliberately fanning the flames of discord.
"It’s certainly difficult to swallow the bitter pill of defeat. However, one factor remains. After the first Karabakh war, many, including the OSCE Minsk Group and other international structures, spent thirty years trying to persuade the Azerbaijanis to accept the status quo. I believe the Armenian side is currently hearing the same arguments. But there is a difference. We did not initiate the aggression; instead, our lands were subject to occupation. The war took place on our territory," he added.
