Uzbekistan, France ministers of agriculture agree on specific areas for cooperation development

The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Aziz Voitov met with the Minister of Agriculture and Food of France Marc Fesneau, in Berlin.

The parties discussed the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in agriculture, work to integrate the country into global production chains.

Marc Fesneau highly appreciated the changes in the agricultural sector and expressed his readiness to jointly develop bilateral promising and mutually beneficial initiatives in this area.

In particular, within the framework of bilateral cooperation, the parties agreed to develop such areas as livestock and dairy cattle breeding, agricultural consulting services, agri-food products and agricultural machinery.

The French side expressed its readiness to cooperate with Uzbekistan, primarily in organizing the production and trade of meat and dairy products, fruit and vegetable processing, agricultural machinery and other areas.

The parties also agreed to establish cooperation in Uzbekistan on the introduction of a crop insurance system based on the best practices of France.

Following the meeting, a joint statement was adopted on further developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and France in agriculture.
