The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the first “Central Asia – European Union” summit, TurkicWorld reports citing Uza.
At Samarkand International Airport, the distinguished guest was welcomed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and other high-ranking officials.
According to the summit agenda, discussions will focus on the prospects for developing multilateral relations and practical cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the European Union.
It is worth noting that multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, based on the principles of friendship, trust, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership, are developing at a rapid pace.
Last year, the volume of mutual trade exceeded $1 billion. Beneficial cooperation continues to grow, with deepening collaboration in industries such as energy, transportation, agriculture, water management, and other sectors of the economy.
A cross-border trade zone “Shavat – Dashoguz” is being jointly established. Within the framework of active interregional ties and cultural-humanitarian exchange programs, various events are regularly organized.
