National Bank of Uzbekistan, French Natixis bank sign credit line agreement

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 12. National Bank of Uzbekistan and France’s Natixis bank signed a 200 million credit line agreement, TurkicWorld reports.

The document was signed during the Uzbek-French business forum in Paris.

As part of Uzbekistan’s state investment program for 2025, the National Bank of Uzbekistan has been tasked with attracting credit lines from international financial institutions totaling $1.2 billion. The newly secured funds will be allocated to financing priority investment and infrastructure projects, including tourism, transportation, housing construction, services, renewable energy, the development of modern clinics, airport modernization, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The credit line is provided under the insurance coverage of European export credit agencies and does not require a state guarantee from Uzbekistan.

The signed agreement is expected to further strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and France.

Natixis is a leading French corporate and investment bank founded in 2006. It is a subsidiary of BPCE Group, the second-largest banking group in France, with a global network spanning 30 countries.
