The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov took part in the semi-annual regional meeting of Huawei for the Middle East and Central Asia in Tashkent, where executives and managing managers of more than 20 representative offices of the company gathered, TurkicWorld reports.
According to information, at the meeting the minister welcomed the decision to hold an annual event in Uzbekistan, taking into account the rapid digital development of the country, increasing its position as a regional leader in creating favorable business conditions for international IT companies and strengthening the brand of Uzbekistan as a host country for major international events in the field ICT.
The minister noted that Uzbekistan has created all the conditions for developing the business of international IT companies, locating offices for business process outsourcing (BPO), and holding regional and global events.
During the meeting, Huawei executives got acquainted with the current "Zero Risk" program for residents of IT Park Uzbekistan, the benefits that residents receive for conducting their activities in Uzbekistan, and plans to further attract international business to the country.
The possibilities of expanding the activities of one of Huawei’s five global resource centers located in Uzbekistan were also discussed by transferring the development of projects in the Middle East and Central Asia region to employees of the office in Tashkent. This will increase the number of personnel, open up more opportunities for growth in the export of IT services in Uzbekistan and strengthen the republic’s position as a center for the development of the IT industry in the region.
