Experience in combating trafficking in human beings and forced labor studied

Uza. A delegation from Estonia, led by Anu Leps, Adviser to the Ministry of Justice of this country on criminal policy issues and national coordinator on issues of combating trafficking in human beings, arrived in Uzbekistan.

In the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, members of the delegation met with representatives of the National Commission on Combating Human Trafficking and Forced Labor.

The guests were informed about the comprehensive measures taken to combat human trafficking, child and forced labor, and the practical implementation of recommendations of international organizations.

The representative of the Ministry of Justice of Estonia noted the scale and effectiveness of the work carried out in Uzbekistan to combat child and forced labor. The positive experience of Uzbekistan in combating trafficking in human beings is relevant for European countries, in particular for the Baltic countries.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation by organizing joint roundtable discussions and exchanging views on current issues in the fight against human trafficking.
