National legislation to be in line with the WTO agreements

Uza. Uzbekistan is implementing comprehensive measures to create a favorable legal system for international commerce, particularly to ensure membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The Presidential resolution “On additional measures to accelerate the process of accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the World Trade Organization” was adopted. The Ministry of Justice has established a department for harmonizing national legislation with the agreements of the World Trade Organization and structural units in the relevant ministries and agencies. They aim to bring national legislation into line with WTO agreements and analyze activities carried out by ministries and agencies in this area. Harmonizing national legislation with WTO agreements and rules is vital in accelerating accession to the WTO.

At the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for Work with the World Trade Organization, an Updated LAP was approved, which included 46 events, and it was sent to the WTO Secretariat in accordance with the established procedure. A meeting was organized at the Ministry of Justice with the participation of responsible officials of state bodies to ensure the implementation of this plan and the Presidential resolution, as well as to discuss tasks for the future.

At the event, the work carried out by ministries and agencies on each item of the updated plan was analyzed in detail, and appropriate measures for its implementation were defined.
