Uza. A meeting was held between the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACWA Power Mohammad Abunayyan.
The parties agreed to hold a ceremony in August this year to solemnly connect the first stage of a new thermal power plant with a capacity of 1500 MW in Syrdarya region to a single energy system, as well as sign an agreement between the ministries of Energy, Investment, Industry and Trade, Uzkimyosanoat JSC and ACWA Power on joint implementation of a pilot project for the production of green hydrogen.
To ensure the balance of the energy system during the commissioning of new renewable energy sources, the possibilities of implementing investment projects for constructing a gas-fired power plant with a capacity of about 1500 MW and a water storage power plant were considered.
The joint modernization of obsolete power plants and their efficient use and digital transformation of the gas transmission system were discussed with Nomac (Saudi Arabia).
At the meeting, the need for installing 3 wind generators was noted as part of the 1000 MW wind power plant construction project, which is being implemented by ACWA Power in Bukhara region.
