ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 18. Turkmenistan and the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) will expand cooperation in a number of areas, TurkicWorld reports via Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry.
According to the information, this became known after the meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Myakhri Hodjamgulyevna and President of the Eurasian Patent Organization Grigory Ivliev.
In the course of the meeting, the sides considered opportunities for expanding practical cooperation, in particular in the field of professional development of national staff and legal issues related to the protection of intellectual property.
Moreover, the parties discussed Turkmenistan's key actions at the national level, including implementing the program for the development of the intellectual property system for 2021-2025. The program aims to improve the legislative framework in the field of intellectual property protection and harmonize with international standards.
In conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their willingness to develop mutually beneficial cooperation further, emphasizing the importance of working together to achieve the set goals.
To note, the Eurasian Patent Office is responsible for accepting applications and granting Eurasian patents that are valid in the territory of the countries that are parties to the patent convention. The office conducts searches and examines Eurasian applications for inventions, as well as decides on objections to the granting of patents.
