Turkmenistan, Greece negotiate trade and economic partnership

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 15. Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Greece Toyly Komekov and representatives of the Greek government discussed issues of trade and economic cooperation at meetings in Athens, where the spheres of education and agriculture were also touched upon, TurkicWorld reports via Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry.

According to the information, the ambassador held talks with the Greek Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Konstantinos Fragkogiannis. During the meeting, the interlocutors noted wide opportunities for strengthening bilateral ties in this sphere. The sides emphasized the importance of expanding partnerships in this field, stressing the need to deepen cooperation.

Komekov also met with Greek Agriculture Minister Konstantinos Tsiaras. During the talks, the sides focused on the development of bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.

In addition, the sides held talks with Greek Vice Minister of Education Ioanna Lytrivi. The sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the educational sphere, including the exchange of experience between the universities of the two countries and the training of Turkmen students in Greek educational institutions.

The meetings are part of the ongoing political and diplomatic dialog between Turkmenistan and Greece aimed at strengthening bilateral ties in various areas, including culture and humanitarian cooperation.

To note, the ceremony of presenting credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Hellenic Republic (with residence in Rome) Toyly Komekov to the President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou took place at the Presidential Palace in Athens on October 8, 2024.
