ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 12. Trade and economic cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan is currently developing steadily, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said at a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, TurkicWorld reports via Turkmenistan's official media.
"Trade and economic cooperation is one of the priority areas of bilateral relations. Currently, these ties are steadily developing," the head of state noted.
Moreover, during the meeting, the sides discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation in political-diplomatic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as topics of international and regional level.
The parties emphasized the importance of interparliamentary ties, which are being strengthened thanks to the active work of the interparliamentary friendship group of the two countries.
Meanwhile, special attention was paid to interaction within the framework of regional and international organizations, such as the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Economic Cooperation Organization.
In conclusion of the meeting, the leaders expressed confidence in further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation based on the principles of good neighborliness and friendship.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was in Ashgabat on a working visit, during which he participated in the international forum "Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development", and held personal meetings with the leaders of other countries participating in the forum.
The forum was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the leaders of the CIS, Mongolia, Iran, and Pakistan gathered. In addition, among the guests of honor were also present the President of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the Head of Tatarstan, the President of the General Conference of UNESCO, heads of international organizations, members of governments, famous scientists, cultural figures, and diplomats.
