BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 9. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced a €25 million loan to Türkiye’s QNB Finansleasing, aimed at facilitating green economy investments focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and climate resilience, TurkicWorldreports via the EBRD.
This financing is part of the Türkiye Green Economy Financing Facility II (GEFF II), which seeks to build on the success of its predecessor by promoting the deployment of green finance across the country.
Türkiye has set an ambitious target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2053, necessitating approximately US$10 billion in annual financing through 2030 to meet this goal.
Established in 1990, QNB Finansleasing is a prominent player in Türkiye’s leasing sector and a long-standing partner of the EBRD. The company is known for its customer-oriented approach, offering tailored leasing models to meet specific client needs.
Since 2009, the EBRD has been a key investor in Türkiye, committing over €20 billion across 453 projects and trade finance limits, primarily in the private sector.
